Present day… I just got done doing a MASSIVE update on our blog. Go back all the way to June for details on our life. Each post is fairly short but you get an idea of what we have been doing.

For those of you who don’t know, we are looking to move. We have picked out a few great houses but want to find that perfect house! We hope to move before the end of the year but we are very sad to leave our neighborhood.

Joshua Best

The best way to end/start a month is with a new baby Best! Trent’s sister Megan had her 3^rd baby, Joshua, on September 30^th (she was able to keep up her tradition of having her kids on the last day of the month). He was one big baby weighing in at 9 ½ pounds and 22 ½ inches long! If you don’t know Megan she is a SMALL woman. I don’t understand how such a small woman could birth such a big baby and look as amazing as she did. She was home a few days later and back into her daily routine. She is amazing!

Thriller

Several years ago at USU, I went with a few friends to see Thriller. I remember it being great, but I couldn't remember much else. So this year, Trent and I dragged a few friends with us to go see it again. Man, it was so funny! For those of you who haven't seen Thriller and think it is just another 'dance'. This is a great performance to see as couples. It has art for the girl and humor for the boy. It was so fun to see as a group and those of you who are students, you get half priced tickets if you purchase them the day of the show. GO see it next year! It was AMAZING!!!

Murder Mystry Dinner

We had great food and enjoyed a scary movie afterwards. We watched Darkness Falls and I don’t know if I will allow the tooth fairy into our house now. A creepy twist on a childhood memory. Eekk

Twilight: Breaking Dawn Part 1

It is that time of year again where your senses are heightened and you know something big is going to happen! Twilight: Breaking Dawn Part 1 is almost here!

I will be hosting a pre-movie party where we can chat and snack before its time to head to the theater. With our 19 reserved seats, we can arrive to the movie theater as we please and get ready for our 12:15 showing of Breaking Dawn Part 1 at Jordan Commons.

As I was not able to get as many seats as I initially wanted, I am not taking verbal, written, or assumed reservation. To insure you have a seat to watch our favorite love story, you must pay for your ticket now via Paypal (no cash or checks). To insure an accurate count and to avoid over selling I must have everyone go through Paypal.

Megaplex has also changed their policy to 'no refunds or exchanges'. Meaning any extra tickets left, I cannot return. Because of their change, if you purchase your ticket and are unable to make the movie for any reason, the cost of the ticket is your loss. I will try my best to resale your ticket, but if I cannot, I will not be refunding your money. (Feel free to resale your ticket on your own as well.) I understand you might be hesitant to purchase your ticket now, but remember I have less tickets than I did for the last showing.

Lake Powell

And just when you thought all the fun was over! The week we got back from St. Thomas we jumped in the car and went to Lake Powell. If I told you I had never been to Lake Powell would you believe me? What if I told you neither Trent nor myself had ever been to Lake Powell…turns out we haven’t! Well, that we can remember at least. A trip at the age of1 doesn’t count. Anyways… we joined a bunch of our friends for a tip down south! It was so much fun to be with everyone for a few days and relax. With hardly any cell service we really had the chance to bond in a new way! We had great fun tubing, skiing, wake boarding, relaxing, eating, exploring, and more!You can count on many more trips to Lake Powell next year now that we know what all the fuss is about. Anyone is welcome to come!

SHARK!!!!! RUN!!!!

Trent has always wanted a shark and we happened to be at the fish store where they had a decent size shark that wasn’t CRAZY expensive. So… after a few hours of thinking about it we went back to the store and got him. He is an Iridescent Shark which is a breed of catfish.

After having him home for a few hours we started doing some research (yes, after bring him home). At this point we found out that he will (given the room) get up to 4 feet long and needs more room than the standard fish. So our little 39 gallon tank was not going to work even for his current size of 8 inches. Why does he need more room you ask… well the nick name of these guys is ‘tank breakers’. They are a very skiddish fish and spook easily. When they are scarred they swim fast and need room to settle down. If they are in too small of a tank they swim so fast and hit the sides of the tank. As they grow and gain strength, they hit the sides of the tank SO hard they 1) hurt themselves and/or 2) break the tank. There have been many that have cracked and shattered their tanks. So, after reading this we quickly started our search for a new tank! Thanks to KSL we found a HUDGE tank for really cheap!

Once in the house we realized our living room was not big enough for our new massive fish tank and our TV. So… the TV got booted downstairs. Yes, we are crazy, yes we didn’t think this through, and yes we are happy! I have always been a pet person so having 4 fish tanks in our living room was wonderful!

Growing up with the ticking of clocks all over our house, the sound of filters doing their job was music to my ears! We are now down to two tanks but it won’t be the last! As our family grows and our interests broaden I will never say no to a pet. (I will however struggle when one of our kids asks for a tarantula.) One day when I am confident our dogs won’t kill a pet bird, we will have one, or maybe two squeaky friends!

St. Thomas, VI

St. Thomas. Man, was this a fun trip. We had a great time weaving through the narrow roads of the VI and spending some quality time with the sun! It was quite rainy while we were there but we still got plenty of beach time in each day. Probably one of our favorite activities was playing in the pool. It was an amazing infinity pool overlooking the ocean with a small kiddy slide at the other end. So what do you think we did? Sit in the pool, sipping drinks and chilling out? No… we played on that silly slide for hours each night! I have never had so much fun in a pool in my life! I usually hate swimming but man, this was great! I think there was only one night we didn’t play on the slide and it was because the island had a curfew of 7pm due to weather. Later the curfew was lifted but we were already inside trying to figuring out which one of us murdered Tom Dooley. Turns our Sunnie was the copycat twin who snuck into our room and murdered Tom Dooley. We had a great time playing a murder mystery game and Trent won the award for best acting. He did a great job! Thanks honey!

Holly's Wedding

September started out with Holly’s wedding. She had a beautiful out door wedding up the canyon and my sister and I had the pleasure of doing her wedding flowers. Holly picked a beautiful Hawaiian flower, Plumeria as her main flower. Since is a flower you can only find in Hawaii it was a challenge finding a supplier for these. We had them specially shipped in from Hawaii and they turned out great! Just look how amazing they are turned how! Before holly got engaged Liz and I had decided to stop doing the flower thing but made one last exception for Holly! We love her so much and it was great to go out with a bang! What an amazing last wedding to do.

Holly's Bachorlette Party

Bachorlette parties are one of my favorite parties to plan! They are so much fun and you get to see all the girls for a night of bliss! For Holly's bachorlette party, we first we went to my sister’s house for a ‘Slumber Party’ presentation. I think these slumber parties are hysterical for the shock and awe factor. It was fun and educational and perfect for a bride to be! After our ‘Party’ we went to dinner at Ichiban Sushi & Japanese Cuisine. It was great food and each table it private. After dinner we went downtown for a good old girls night! We went to our room and ended up just hanging out and chatting. We have girls nights all the time but I cannot get enough! I love all my girls and would be lost without them! Thank you everyone that came!

Luke Ray Fitzgerald

This is the last post in a long series and I have debated about posting this at all. But here goes…

In early August my best friend Shelley (you might remember from her bridal shower) gave birth to her beautiful son Luke Ray Fitzgerald. Unfortunately before Luke was born he returned to his Heavenly Father.

When I first heard this news it absolutely crushed me. I couldn’t understand how something like this could happen or better yet, WHY?!

Shelley is my rock. She has been my friend since I can remember and I always turn to her for advice or help. It hurt me that I couldn’t help her in this challenge in her life. It hurt me that I couldn’t relate to what she was going through. It hurt me that she had to experience this pain at all.

I’m not sure if this is a coincidence or not, but in Primary, the song of the month was ‘The Lord Gave me a Temple’. It had only been a day since I heard the tragic news and as I was preparing my lesson for primary, it still didn’t hit me. But as I was teaching this new song to the kids the light bulb went off. My dear Shelley, she has never done anything wrong in her life and there was a reason for it. In our pre-mortal life, she made the choice, the sacrifice, to give this perfect soul a body without the joy of raising him on Earth. He needs this body and she gave him that gift. Although it will not be hard, she is strong enough to make it through this so she can see him again and raise him in Heaven. I cannot sign this song now without crying. I try to hold it in but I just end up watching the children sing. They don’t understand the impact their sweet voice have signing these important words have on me.

One reason I decide to post this is Shelley has created a blog. After her experience many people have come to her with similar experiences. You never know what goes on behind closed doors and if you have had a similar experience, she is a great example to follow. http://blog.trevorandshelley.com/

This has changed the way I look at life. If you have noticed I have been a little quitter lately, I’m sorry. Please don’t take my silence personally. I am adjusting to the new me and don’t seem to have as much to talk about anymore.

At the end of July Trent and I had the pleasure of being a Ma and Pa on our Stake Trek. This was such a wonderful experience and I look forward to the year we get to do it again! We had such a great time with our family! It is amazing the bond you can form after only 4 days! I think about them every day and am grateful for Facebook so I can stock them every day as they grow into unique individuals!

Sea Base

Once a year Trent’s half-brother, Jordan, comes to Utah for a visit. When he visits we have a great time together as a family! This year we all went to Sea Base and had some fun snorkeling and scuba diving. This was my first dive after getting certified (that was something I did in June) and it was so fun having so many family members share the same hobby. What a great way to start a new adventure. I don't have pictures, but I do have a video that I will upload soon.

Katy Perry

Katy Perry came to town and my mother was able to score box seats to the concert! With that, Holly, Jenny, and Jennie jumped at the chance and we had a wonderful time. I think she is by far my favorite concert performer! She was so personable to her fan and the show she put on was great! She had great dancers and she has a great live voice. It just fun to watch! I would go to her concert again in a heartbeat!

Grandma Ruth

On July 9, 2011 Trent’s Grandma Ruth Neilson passed away. She was a wonderful woman and we were sad to see her go.It was a joyful time for her as she was able to reunite with the love of her live. She talked several times about how she was ready to move on. As hard as it was for us, we knew it was what she wanted. We love and miss you Grandma Ruth!

Ruth Silver Neilson 1918 ~ 2011 Our loving Mother and Grandmother Ruth Silver Neilson passed away peacefully July, 9 2011. Born April 1, 1918 in Holladay, UT to parents John Watson Silver and Lovina Taylor Silver. She was one of five children and married her sweetheart Barr Vaness Neilson August 25, 1938 in the Salt Lake Temple. She is survived by her daughters Jacque (Boyd Butler) and Julie (Dale Bond), 11 Grand Children and 24 Great Grand Children. Ruth was loved by all who knew her. She will be greatly missed and we love you. She lived a long, joyous life. The joys of her later life were her grand children and great grand children. Services will be held Tuesday July 12, 2011 at 12:00p.m. at the chapel at 2115 E Sublette Place (8455 S). A viewing will be held one hour prior.

Holly's Bridal Shower

Shelley's Baby Shower

On July 9th, I gave my best friend of 22+ years a baby shower. We grew up down the street from each other but have always gone to different schools so we ended up with a different group of friends. As she has been living in Provo for the past 5 years I hadn’t had the chance to meet many of her Provo friends. It was great to meet them and spend some quality time with the ladies! We had a blast eating yummy food and playing the fun shower games!

Although these pictures (soon to be added) might make the shower look well planned out this wasn’t the case. A few days before the shower I called up my AMAZING sister asking if she would like to go shower shopping with me. I have thrown countless parties including bridal showers so I thought I had this in the bag. Shortly after arriving to the party store I realized I had NO idea what I was doing. As Liz asked the simplest of questions like,‘what are you having to drink’ and ‘do you need to bring plates’ I just froze in horror. I had no idea what I was doing! I was so out of my element I didn’t know what to do. Thanks to her help we were able to put together a great shower presentation. Thanks again Liz for all your help!

Memorial Day

We've been slacking on the blogging lately, and so we're just going to start with Memorial Day. We had been planning a trip to visit Trent's sister in Idaho, but we were talking Trent's mom's motorhome and seeing snow in the forecast we headed south to St. George. This last minute audible was a good thing because it was 85 degrees down there and a good break from the cold weather.

The trip was fairly uneventful, having the motorhome afforded us the ability to take our dogs with us which they really enjoyed. We laid the table down in the back and converted it into a bed so they could look out the side window or it allowed them to look out the front window. Driving was an experience even though this is considered a small motorhome, a minor wind gust can put you in the next lane, so constant attention is required. And speaking of constant attention, watch that gas gauge...go empty. The three fill-ups I got 8.8mpg, 7.8mpg, and 8.0mpg.

When we got to St. George, we hooked up the motorhome at the RV park, walked to the grocery store with our dogs, and settled in for the night. It was pretty roomy and not a bad way to sleep. We were only about a mile away from the St. George Temple, and so we got the dogs worn out, made sure the A/C was blowing and walked to the Temple for a session. We also were able to walk the dogs through Snow Canyon, met some of our RV neighbors, and take naps(best part of the trip)!

On the way back we got stuck in traffic around Payson and Sketcher got the opportunity to ride up front with me and look out the window which he was upset about when I had to remove him after starting to move again. Fortunately the floor next to the seat is big enough that he made a bed and spent the rest of the trip there.

Pirates of the Caribbean on Stranger Tides

One of our favorite childhood stories is back for more! On May 20, 2011 the 4th Pirates of the Caribbean will be premiering. Similar to the AWESOME Twilight Parties we are going to have one for Pirates of the Caribbean This is a co-ed party so bring your significant other and/or a friend and lets have some fun!

Cross your fingers for good weather and we will watch the first pirates movie outside while enjoying a BYOM (Bring Your On Meat) BBQ and many pirate treats.

There will be a cash prize of $50 for the best Captain Jack Sparrow look alike. Start preparing now as there will be some stiff competition. (You are not required to wear your outfit to the movie.)

Updates...1..2..&3

I think the most exciting update for our family is Trent has quit his job. This has shown to be a great opportunity for him to go back to school and finish his education while working on the side projects he has been dreaming of.

In his time home the past week our dogs have been in a stage of shock. They are so happy to have him home during the day but I think they are afraid he will leave again because they follow him around all day long! (That is when they are not barking)

Here is a picture of Tucker laying by Trent's feet while he is doing the dishes... coincidentally blocking him in. Ha ha

This has to be the cutest picture! When we get ready in the morning I leave the bathroom door open but after I left Trent got in the shower and shut the door. Tucker didn't like that and brought his bed and two toys to the bathroom door where both dogs waited for Trent to come out. As soon as the door opened Sketcher ran in but Tucker stayed here to pose for his 'Kodak Moment'.

For those of you who remember my New Year's goals... well I have just had my new/used bike fixed up! They were so kind to make it gurly for me and I just love it! I have the bike, the shoes, the helmet, just need to take it out for a spin!

Remember the picture of my greenhouse from the last post... well it doesn't look the same anymore. :( Sadly due to the wind my greenhouse has tipped over. Trent was home when it happened and was able to grab the plants and bring them inside for me before they got covered in the snow that had begun to fall (not before the puppies had their chance at them... they got a few and drug them around the yard).

I wish I had as much faith as others. During the weeks we had wind storm after wind storm I was stressing every time I heard the wind, thinking "is that the gust that will blow my greenhouse down?" I had it staked down and rocks around the edges, but I was so afraid and had convinced myself it was going to tip. Well it did. I was so sad when I got the picture message from Trent and was at that point giving up. No seeds had started to sprout and they had been in there for almost two weeks. I think it was just too warm on the good days and too cold on the bad days they couldn't grow. So when it tipped I figured this isn't my year for starting plants, I will just have to buy them at the store in a few weeks.

I am a firm believe of 'Everything Happens For A Reason' but in the moment it is hard to understand that. You would think I would have more faith as we just finished reading Jacob and about the vineyard and the struggles they had to get the olive tree to grow but they stuck with it and it grew. I remember thinking I just need to stick with it and believe they will grow and they will, but with the weather I just didn't see how it was possible.

Well the greenhouse tipped and the plants were brought inside. Low and Behold... in less than a week they started to sprout!!!!! They just needed to come inside and the only way they were going to come inside is if the greenhouse tipped. Unfortunately in the Tip some of the starts got mixed up so I don't know what seed is what but I have little plants growing so I don't care!

I think these little ones are my Poppies... There are about 10 pods with little sprouts like this one.

This is some kid of a squash... I took this picture last night and this morning it has popped right out and has two leaves.

You can barely see this little start... it is a small brown 'T' shape thing... no idea what it will be.

I counted this morning and I have about 6 tomato starting to grow (I can tell those seeds from all the rest) so I am just tickled pink! If my giant pumpkin's stayed in their original spot they haven't sprouted yet... It doesn't mean they won't but they haven't yet. If they don't start well, I guess this isn't my year to enter a giant pumpkin into the fair. Guess I just have to play it by ear.

Greenhouse

The greenhouse is here and is up! Lets just hope the wind doesn't take it down.

I have been wanting a greenhouse for the past few years but haven't been able to bring myself to spend the $700 to test one out. Well a few months ago I found a cute plastic greenhouse for only $80! My logic was as follows... "I can try out an $80 greenhouse and if I like it next year I can upgrade, if I don't like it, an $80 loss isn't the end of the world." So it's here and is up!

It is small but will work for this year. It has two rows of shelves on each side.

I have received my flowing ground cover (the plants in the top left of the picture) and am just waiting until the snow stops before I plant them. I have my starts ready to start, once I know the temp in the greenhouse will stay consistent I will start them.

Its funny, you can see these plants are starting to grow towards the sun. Ha ha... can't wait to plant them!

I Can't Wait For Spring!

Can I just say I am so excited for Spring! Last winter I took a gardening class but didn’t have the prep time to make it work. Well this year it is going to happen! I have purchased my seeds, starter kits and have it all mapped out in my head where everything will be planted. Below are pictures of what my garden will consist of!

Better Boy Hybrid Tomato

As I am not a fan of tomatoes I will be giving these away and canning the rest.

Tendersweet Carrots

The awesome part of carrots is you can plant them all year round! They will first be planted in the spring for some yummy summer treats but then they will be planted again in the fall and will stay good in the ground all winter long! So come December I will still have fresh carrots to dig up and eat!

Harrier Hybrid Beets

I love beets and these should be very similar to growing carrots.

Jackpot Hybrid Summer Squash

Again this is not a vegetable that I like but I will give it a try. If anyone is interested they will be up for grabs this summer!

Big Max Pumpkin

I am very excited for this! This will be the pumpkin I will enter into the state fair. This guy can grow to an impressive 100 pounds or more! It will have a beautiful smooth red-orange skin and bright orange flesh! Along with being so big it is also great for canning, freezing, and baking! I will attempt to make my very first pumpkin pie from scratch this fall!

I will be starting all these plants from seed and I will not use them all. If anyone would like a start of any of these please let me know and I would be happy to share as long as supplies last!

This year I will also be working on beautifying our yard. I have bought the following plants to help achieve this!

The first three pictures are a type of ‘ground cover’. I will plant these in the flower beds in the back yard and hopefully they will overcome the weeds and make for a beautiful outlining.

One of my ALL TIME FAVORITE flowers are poppies! (Something I guess I got from watching the Wizard of Oz so much as a child.) But today I came across this beautiful mix of poppies!

Jelly Beans California Poppy

I will plant these in the front yard flower beds in front of the house. Hopefully these will work well with the current flowers and help it not look so sparse. These apparently do really well in poor soil and dry conditions. Best of all, they just have to be planted right in the dirt, no starts necessary. I have plenty of these as well so if you want some, let me know!

Another one of my favorite flowers are Ranunculus!

I think I will plant these in the front flower beds as well. Each pack only comes with 15 bulbs so I will have to place them carefully to get the best effect.

Wynne’s All-Star Jumbo Dahlia Mix

Okay I couldn’t resist these! Look how big they are! These will be so fun to watch them grow if I can successful do so. I was looking at the winners at the state fair last year and someone had won for a Dahlia. I am not sure what it takes to win for horticulture but if I can get these to grow I just might enter them as well! It will be a little tricky to get these to grow next year because of our cold winters. They do better in warmer climates in general but I will have to dig them up in the fall and bring them into the house so they don’t freeze. I know people who do this with other plants so I know it is possible. It will just be if I remember to do so.

One year I will have a green house and I will start any kind of seed for those who are interested. To buy a pack of seed from the seed cataloges I have is really cheap. Then to buy the starting kits is cheap as well. I would love to have starts of tomatoes, different types of squashes, ANYTHING and sell them for like $.50 to people I know (that means you). Just enough to cover the starts themselves but that way we can have great plants without having to spend $50+ on them each year. We will see how this year goes and hopefully in the near future I will post a blog about available starts for sale.

Happy Anniversary!

This week Trent and I celebrated our 3 year anniversary. It has been an amazing 3 years and I can't wait to see what this year brings. I have to admit I am not the best with anniversaries but my husband always has something up his sleeves. If you remember, our first anniversary Trent had written 'I Love You' on 365 post-it notes and stuck them all around the house. It was the cutest thing I have ever seen. Well this year I wanted to do something. We have dinner planned at La Caille this weekend so I surprised Trent with a romantic candle lit dinner for two on Wednesday night. I set up the table with our wedding china and we drank our sparkly drink in our toasting flutes from our wedding. We had a great dinner followed by an early bed time. Sadly I have strep throat and the exhaustion of the day kicked in around 8:30. Below are some pictures of our lovely dinner and the BEAUTIFUL flowers and vase Trent brought home. The napkin was suppose to be a rose... I forgot one last step so it doesn't look like it but its still pretty.

It is hard to see but the vase has this beautiful crystal rose on it for the traditional modern anniversary gift, the 'Rose'.

As the traditional classic 3rd anniversary gift is leather, I gave Trent a leather 'date book'. This is no ordinary date book, it has 12 planned dates through out the year. One a month for the entire year. This way no matter what is going on we will have our night to look forward to each month.

I wish I was better with words and could express in writing how much I love my husband and how grateful I am to be his wife. He loves me for who I am. He is a proud holder of the priesthood. He supports me in everything I do and will do anything for me. I strive to be as great of a spouse to him as he is to me but the list of things he does is endless. I love you honey and never forget it!

This will be a year to remember. 2010 was a great year, we had so much fun and many experiences we will never forget but I think 2011 will blow 2010 away!

We have a few fun trips planned such as our Stake Trek in July (the hottest month of the year) as Ma and Pa.

And St. Thomas in September (hurricane season.. we might not be the best trip planners out there).

I am sure a few California and Las Vegas trips will sneak in there but as I now have zero vacation time left for 2011... they will be quick weekend trips.

One thing that I am doing this year is setting GOALS! I have always been opposed to setting any New Year's Resolution because I don't feel setting them in January makes any different than setting them in March. Anyways... This year someone was talking to me about writing down 100 goals that you would like to complete in life regardless of what they were. I thought it was a stupid idea but after thinking about it for months I am starting to see the point. When writing down goals or a 'to do list' you are more likely to complete those goals or 'tasks' than if you just think about them. With my love of 'to-do' lists and this new revelation, I have decided to start writing down 100 goals to complete in this life. I am starting with a small list I can complete this year.

White Christmas

We're actually getting some snow today which is nice, but our dogs couldn't risk us being disappointed by not having a white Christmas. That's why they brought the 'snow' to us.

We recently picked up a big shark stuffed animal at Ikea and well, the dogs enjoyed ripping the cotton out of it, as you can see. I took a picture too early, the floor is now COVERED in cotton. I know it'll clog the vacuum instantly, so there's no point in even trying that. Instead, we've resorted to scooping it up and covering the dogs in cotton.

Finally pictures from Mexico. Sorry I don't have many of people, we didn't take many pictures this trip.

Don't you just love taking pictures of beautiful sun sets! My problem is whenever I take a pictures of sun sets that look like the picture above... they always turn out like the pictures below! A secret to capturing the sun set how you see it... use your sun glasses as a filter! The only difference between the two pictures is one is taking with sun glasses and one is not. Amazing!

Okay so the last two days we were there they started tearing up the beach. Apparently they have been losing their beach to the ocean so they had to redo it... interesting. But I was able to get a good picture of a tractor on the beach. (Getting a good tractor picture has been an assignment from a college photo class... wasn't able to find a unique picture of one until now! Assignment finally completed!)

On our last day in Mexico, we decided to go on a walk. This was the beautiful sun rise that welcomed us.

Not only did we get a beautiful sun rise, we got to witness one of the great miracles of life. We were able to see baby sea turtles making their first journey into the ocean! It was absolutely amazing!

At first glance the picture below just looks like a picture taken by accident. But little do you know, this is the baby sea turtle's nest. Not only is it hard to see in the picture, it was hard to find. If it weren't for the little tracks we would never have found it.

As we were watching the turtles make their trek for the ocean, a security guard came over and started digging in the hole. He started to pop out these little turtles that were packed in the sand like fossils. He pulled out about 20 of them then suck them back in the hole and buried them. We were shocked but latter found out that the ones he pulled out just weren't ready for the journey yet. They wouldn't have the strength to make it to the ocean before the sun would be too hot and burn them up. He said that they would make their way out of the sand on their own when they could make it to the ocean.

Its hard to see, but this is my attempt at being artistic at capturing the baby's on their way to the ocean.

So our hotel had some other fun animals around. They had 3 Bengal tigers.

And a bunch of parrots. It was funny, these birds were soaking wet! Their care taker was giving them a shower with the hose and man, they loved it! It was so fun to watch!

We had a great time in Mexico and can't wait to go back one day!

Aunt Cindy's Wedding 09/18/2010

This weekend we had the pleasure of attending my favorite aunts wedding! She picked a beautiful place and man.. it was BEAUTIFUL!!! She got the perfect Idaho Saturday, and those of you who know Idaho knows that doesn't happen very often. But here are a few pictures from the wedding.

We were able to get a few family pictures as well.

We also had a chance to visit with Trent's sister Heather who lives in Rigby as well. Here is a picture with her and her kids! Look at the size of this dog!!! He was HUGE but so cute. We just about took him home with us!

Happy Birthday Trent

Tomorrow is Mr. Trent's birthday. He will be the big 25!!! He has always had a passion for aquariums and has had them in the past. I wanted to surprise him this year with an aquarium but was struggling to find the alone time needed to put it together. Finally I caved and told him of my plan. So for the past week we have been setting up the aquarium below:

Today we were able to bring our first fishies to their new home. We got three Glofish (orange, green, and red) and a gold fish looking algae eating fish. We don't have names for them yet but I am sure they will come in time.

So it is hard getting a non-blurry picture of fish that never hold still but this picture does have all our new family members in it. The algae eating fish is the one behind the hut a little bit to the left of the center of the roof. (Assuming you all care enough to look that hard.)

I will try to sneak a picture of Trent sleeping on the couch as I am sure he will fall asleep watching the fish tonight.

Girls Gamp Out

So this weekend a few girls and I went up and camped at Diamond Fork Hot Springs. We got up there Friday after work and enjoyed some great tin-foil dinners! After dinner I tested a new cake recipe but due to the dutch-oven not cooling down, it didn't turn out exactly how it was suppose to, but it was still delicious!

After dinner we decided to go on a midnight hike up a trail head a few minutes from our camp site. The great thing about this place is it is very dog friendly. Holly and Tabitha brought their dogs and they were a great addition to your trip. Holly's dog Goose is still a puppy and learning new things every day. That night Goose learned not to run ahead of the flash light in the dark. Unfortunatly that lesson came the hard way. As we were walking we heard the sound of something slidding then a few loud thumps. As we were all freaking out as there was no noise following the thumps, Holly just about learned the same lesson as Goose. Luckly Holly stopped before she went off the cliff Goose so kindly found for us. We think Goose got the air knocked out of him as he didn't move for about 30 seconds after his fall. Thank goodness he is a very durable dog and did not injure himself in his fall. It was probably a good thing it was dark and we couldn't exactly see how far Goose fell, but he was fine and didn't seem fazed by the fall.

We had a safe nights 'rest' with the dogs making sure no intruders came within a 20 feet radius of our tent. Unfortunatly that equals barking at any unfamilar noises, but we all knew we were safe. We also had the wonderful opturnitily to wake up bright and early to the sound of a heard of cows mooing. What they were mooing at we don't know but they sure can be loud.

After a breakfast of simores, roasted Starburst, stuffed french toast, and a wonderful egg and potato cassarole we headed up to the hot springs. Sadly some of the girls had to get home early so the 4 of us went on to the hike. It was about 2.5 miles up and the hike was just BEAUTIFUL!!!!

Below are some pictures of everyone in the tent and the hike. I would recommend this hike to anyone and their family! So fun and could be easily done as a day trip.

Twilight Saga: Eclipse

The evening of June 29 was the big Twilight party! Lots of great people combined with some fun snack food while watching a silly chick flick equals a great party! I don't have any pictures of the food yet (I managed to forget to take any, but my wonderful sister got some... I will post those later) but a few of the things we had were blood rimmed glasses, test tubes full of 'blood', kibble, dog treats, and cake balls. I will post pictures as soon as I can.

The pictures I do have is of everyone posing with their favorite team... aka Team Jacob or Team Edward. I have only posted one of everyone but have a few different posses per person so let me know if you want a copy of all your pictures. They are pretty cute, I just love the cardboard cutouts. If it wasn't for the glare they would be perfect!

This was such a fun night! For those of you who were not able to make it, there will be repeat of the evening when the first Breaking Dawn coming out in November 2011. I will send out emails once it is closer so make sure you let me know if you want to go!

Day 4!

Day 4 started out with a nice bike ride through Central Park. We rented some bikes out of a van and went on a hot bike ride. With this humidity we were so sweaty riding around. You will notice the pictures from this trip do not include us as that is not appropriate for a family friendly blog (lol).

The stair case by the mysterious fountain. We later found out that this stair case is also an amazing bridge with beautiful artwork. We didn't get any pictures with the phone so this post won't include any of those pics.

After our hot bike ride in the park we met up with Trent's cousin Jason. He taught us how to ride the subway and we ventured our way to the Statue of Liberty. If you buy a day subway pass you can ride the Staten Island Ferry for free. So that is exactly what we did! We got fairly close Lady Liberty and was able to spend time chatting it up with Jason.

Since we have been here the best food we had eaten up to that point was a grilled cheese sandwich. Sad, I know! Luckily Jason was able to suggest and direct us to a lot of great places to eat. One place Jason suggested was also a place one of our tour guides suggested, Grimaldi's Pizzeria in Brooklyn. This is a very popular pizza joint and the wait can get up to several hours long any day of the week. Our tour guide, a New York native, knew a great little secret, the owner of Grimaldi's also owns Ignazio's which is just around the corner. So around the corner we walked and sat right down and had delicious pizza.

Our drinks came in these little 8oz glass bottles. Very cute but for $2 I would rather have a plastic cup with more than 8oz's.

After pizza we walked down to the pier where Jason said was a great ice cream place. We got some wonderful ice cream an just enjoyed the view of the city. Here are some pics.

Day 5!

So to end our trip, we took a guided tour on a rickshaw around Central Park. We got so see where the popular movies were filmed in the park.

Us by the mysterious fountain again. You would think by know I would have learned how to say it. Well when your tour guide has a thick accent it is hard to understand the correct pronunciation.

After the park we made our way to the Guggenheim.

The structure of the building was stunning. As for the art inside, you have to really love modern art to fully enjoy the exhibits. Things were fairly extreme and in my opinion, a little weird. I love art but I have a hard time looking at photography that has no artistic value but is classified as art. I guess I don't like looking at picture and thinking I could do better. I want my pictures displayed there!

After the Guggenheim we went to The Burger Joint (another suggestion from Jason) and had lunch. It was a great lunch! Now we are headed back to the airport and will be back home tonight.

New York Day 3

Day 3! We managed to wake up at a more decent hour and hopped on our tour bus. We road it around uptown Manhattan and got off at The Met. Can I just say that is a massive museum! We spent an hour and a half walking around and probably only saw a quarter of it. We were trying to waste time so we could go on a guided tour but after walking around our feet couldn't take anymore. I don't think I have ever done this much walking in my life. We have both developed shin-splints in our legs from all the walking and if we sit too long we both look like gimps as our muscles re-adjust to walking.

I just cannot believe how much there is to see here! The tour is nice to drive around and get a chance to see everything from afar, but we are only going to get to see a few things up close. It is just a little bit overwhelming for an extended weekend trip.

This is a turkey sandwich from the Carnegie Deli! There is about 4 inches of meat and about a half inch of bread! The table next to us got a turkey and pastrami sandwich and it was about 10 inches tall, no joke!!!!

New York Is Awesome

So we got into New York at about 5:30 pm last night and after dumping our bags at the hotel we headed out in the city in search of some food. We walked up to Central Park and around until we found a little pizza place. After, we found ourselves in Times Square where we had dessert at Roxy's Deli. As we left Roxy's we were stopped by this Scottish salesman who effectively sold us tickets to a live comedy show. He talked to us for a good 10 minutes and was very entertaining.

Today we accidentally slept until about noon wasting half of our day. Once we got up and going we ventured back to Times Square to hop on a tour bus. We went down town and got off at the World Trade Center. We walked around Battery Park and saw the Statue of Liberty from afar. As we slept a good portion of the day we were too late to catch a ferry to see it up close and personal.

On our way back to our hotel we stopped at the Rockefeller Center to overlook the city. It was a beautiful sight and we are going back tonight to see the evening view as well.

We just ate dinner and are off to our comedy show. Below are some pictures from last night and today. I will add the night picture of the city later tonight!

So Trent and I took a spur of a moment trip to Cali before our scheduled trip with the family. Here are a few pictures from that trip.

Finally some vacation pictures!!!

So Las Vegas has a new "City Center". It apparently has everything you could want inside and is the new cool thing. Here are some of the cool things inside!

Three AWESOME pieces of art!

The coolest bathrooms I have ever seen! It is hard to see in the pictures the the walls are so neat!

Outside of the hotel's in a giant round about are these waterfalls! They were so cool to just watch. Very soothing, a nice addition when walking into a hotel.

Okay so in the mall in the City Center were many cool things! This being one of them. These are pillars of ice on a pool of water. Yes, ICE in the middle of a dessert. It was not cold in the building but they were awesome! And this is Brandon touching the ice.

So you know in elementary school where you take 2, 2 liter bottles and make a twister, well they made twisters in the mall! It was so cool, there were several of these cylinders of water and they would make twisters. with the lights reflection on them made them look so exciting! I totally want one in my house!

These are the most unique stairs I have ever seen!

Here is a close up of the step, they are pink geodes!!! I would totally make a coffee table out of these!

So as you pull into the parking garage at the City Center you are greeted by these wonderful neon purple reflectors! It put a quirky spin on a parking garage. I loved it!!! I would stay there just to park in this parking garage.

Bray's 2010

Since the Bray's don't have that exciting of a life on a day-to-day basis, I thought I would give an update on all the fun plans we have for this up coming year.

To start off with, TODAY we are going with our friends Tabitha and Brandon to one of our favorite places...

This was a spur of the moment trip, but those always turn out the best. We are going to just enjoy a weekend with our friends and try to relax. No big plans down there as it is suppose to be rainy on Saturday, but if we can find a good deal on a show we will be there!

NEXT...

In April we have a family trip planned down to California. I am so excited as I haven't been to California with my family in years... and I mean years as in when I was in elementary school.

I am so excited because my nephew's Sawyer and Wyatt will be joining us. We will be taking them to....

AND

I cannot wait to take Sawyer to Disneyland and see him react to all the characters. Sawyer did not like Santa Claus this year so we might find that we share a unique phobia. For those of you who don't know, the thing that scares me the most in the world is people dressed up in those costumes. I don't understand it as I know they are just people, but it really freaks me out. I have even worked in one of those costumes myself and seeing my reflection was scary lol... Anyways, I think Sawyer is just the right age to enjoy the beauty and design of Disneyland. He might not remember this trip but we will be able to capture his excitement through photographs.

Sawyer just loves going to the aquarium, or fish and frogs as he calls it, so I just cannot imagine his face when he see's the big water animals at Sea World. Once of the cutest things he does when he see's something cool is go "W----O----W" and says it over and over and over. I think he will just be so amazed at what he see's there his mouth will get dry from him talking so much.

Next....

In July we are venturing off to the big city of New York!!!!

I have never been to New York and that has been one of the place Trent has always wanted to take me. We found a great deal for a long weekend trip and snatched it up quickly! We will be able to tour all of New York and have a few days to just hang out and enjoy the city life.

Next....

The last trip of 2010 will be to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico in October.

I am so excited to go back to Puerto Vallarta.When I went on my cruise to Mexico in 2006 (I think that is when it was) this was my favorite stop. The mountain sides were covered in vegetation that was just a beautiful shade of green and combined with the blue ocean was such a wonderful site to see! I am so excited to be going back. We will be going with Trent's family and will get to stay for 10 DAYS. Yes, 10 whole days!!!

I have two things I want to do while we are there...
1) sit on the beach and get tan (or burned)
2) rent wave-runners and play in the ocean
When I went last time we had excursions planned so I didn't actually get to spend any time at the beach except for the few minutes my friend Rachel and I stopped at a hotel beach for a few minutes just so we could say we did. That was also the first, and hopefully only time, someone has mistaken me for being pregnant.... I have to say, not a fun experience and apparently I can't forget about it.
Trent has always talked about the time when he rented wave-runners at the beach in Mexico and had a great time. Granted when he did it, it was right after a hurricane so he had big waves to play in, but it sounded like so much fun I have wanted to try it as well. So hopefully we can get the chance to try it while we are there.

We are so excited to have the opportunity to go on so many vacations this year and want to get the most out of each experience.

Cupcakes!!!

So for the past few weeks I have been trying to figure out something to do in the evening to make a few extra dollars that I can continue to do after starting a family. I took a few cake decorating classes, but I had no desire to make wedding cakes. It never occurred to me to make cupcakes. Well I stumbled across a blog where this lady makes cupcakes out of her home. She is AMAZING. As I was looking at her cupcakes I kept thinking to myself "I know how to do that" and I light came on in my head... "why can't I do that?" I love making cakes for other people, why not try to do it as a part time job. So today after church it was all I could think about to try to make some of these cupcakes. I didn't have everything to make the frosting so I had to use some frosting I had made previously (it doesn't go bad) and it was a little too soft. I think they turned out pretty well but some of the rose peddles started to melt together because it was too soft. I am going to try again tomorrow and will post more pictures. But let me know what you think of these!

Revenge!

As we talked about in this post, our dogs had to have cones around their heads for 10 days. Well, Tuesday night, they let us know how they felt about it. This is the first time they have ever done anything like this so it was kind of surprising. Looking at them just sitting there amongst the destruction, well, let's just say they still got treats that night. The garbage cans however are no longer accessible to them.

Two Years!

Two years ago today, I was married to my lovely wife Suzanne. She has been such an amazing woman and helps keep me grounded. I cannot imagine my life without her, nor do I want to.
For those of you who don't know, Suzanne and I started dating in high school and the picture above is from the first week we started dating back in 2003. We've never looked back and have been happily together ever since. I love you Annie!

Manhood...gone

Just over a week and a half ago, we took our dogs in to get neutered. Thanks to some procrastination and a several month wait at the Humane Society, we didn't do this until they were over a year old. The first night after getting them home, they looked horrifically sad. They kept their heads down as they walked, their tails were down, and they wouldn't even think about walking up or down stairs.
Over the next few days we had to teach them how to eat with the cones on and how to walk up stairs(they couldn't see the stair in front of them), and we also had to provide a lot of itch support since they couldn't itch their ears or neck. Fortunately after ten days of having the cones on, they got them off last night and they are SO excited to have them off. They don't run into walls anymore and they can eat uninhibited. Now let's hope it settles them down a bit.

November was a big month for those Twilight fans out there...

We had a great party and among the guest list was Edward Cullen and Jacob Black. They were such gentleman and were happy to pose for pictures.

Below are pictures of our feast while we watched Twilight preparing to see the midnight showing of New Moon.

It was so much fun to have a girls night and just relax. Thank you to all of those who came down from Logan, you really made the night.

On June 30, 2010 the next installment of the Twilight series will be in theaters. Those of you interested we will be having a pajama party on June 29th and will be going to the midnight showing. I will keep everyone updated and if anyone who couldn't make it to our New Moon party and is interested in our Eclipse PJ party just let me know!

Alright Alright Alright, here is your blog post.

October was a fun month, Becca and Suzanne spent hours and hours preparing for the first annual Halloween Murder Mystery Dinner Party which turned out great! Below are some pictures (I apologize, once the party got started I forgot to continue taking pictures... if anyone out there has some, I think it is time for your blog post... lol...)

Before and After

Yesterday we got our dogs groomed, as I was taking them to the groomers, I snapped off a picture of Sketcher in the back seat doing his usual thing(leaning against something). He's quite the shaggy dog.

Believe it or not, it is the same dog. They seem to have a bit more energy(wouldn't you after losing 20% of your body weight), and went from looking like bears(or ewoks) to Greyhounds.

Christmas.... Again?!?!?

Who knew Christmas would come twice this year and so close together.

I cannot believe I am so lucky to be married to such a wonderful person! Not only does he put up with my crazy obsessions (Twilight) but actually supports them. However, I don't think Trent will let me go to the mall anytime soon... well at least let me walk around alone.

We went to the mall to look at new phones since we are both due for an upgrade, but as we walked through the mall I wandered into a shoe store... Below you will see my splurge.

Next on the shopping list is a cute coat to match!

I know, totally unpractical but look how cute! They will even match my Halloween costume. You will just have to stay tuned to find find out what that will be....

The cute zippers in the back... how can you not just LOVE them?!

All the shoes... Okay so I normally don't get two pair of shoes at one time but it has been a long time since I have bought a pair of shoes. I have been trying to think of the last pair I bought and I cannot figure it out. I am so excited and totally bummed there is not church this week to wear them to.

Jazz Game

So today on the Jazz twitter page if you brought a copy of the tweet to the Energy Solutions Arena from noon to 3pm they would give you two free tickets. So at lunch Becca, Megan, Brandon and I went and got some tickets. Below is a picture of us at the game. It's halftime at the moment and the Jazz are up 53-45.

Cake and Flowers

Tonight was my last class of my second cake class. Below you will see my final cake along with another cake we made the second week of class. I apologize the pictures are not the best, it was pretty dark when I took them.

These are the cute roses I made out of fondant. They are really easy but they take a lot of time. I just love them!

Christmas came early!!!!

Who knew Christmas was coming early this year? Look at all the fun things Suzanne got today. It is hard to see in this pictures but it is everything she needs to make a wonderful scrapbook station once the Brays get their basement organized.

Suzanne all excited! She is trying to set up the boxes for a picture.

Suzanne now has every to make this cute little desk. Hopefully she will be able to fill it with all her current scrapbooking supplies (wink wink... gift idea's for the December Christmas...)

She also got this cool shelf that will hold everything from ribbon to the the tiny tacks to the colorful beads.

The best thing about this Christmas, Michael's was so kind as to have a 50% off sale on all scrapbooking storage supplies this week. So all this cost under $200. AMAZING, I know!

Suzanne also came across some old pictures that were never posted.

This is Lexi (Suzanne's second cousin) sitting on stage waiting to hear the result of her dance performance. Yes, she did get first place.

This is Sawyer at Lexi's dance performance, just look at the face! So cute!

Lexi dancing. She is so talented and so young. She is going to be an amazing dance (and singer and soccer player) when she grows up!

At the performance they were selling dance accessories and Sawyer loved this hat. It was pretty cute.

Park City!

We've been taking a lot of trips lately. Well that will come to a close for awhile. We finished off our string of vacations in Park City with Trent's sister Becca and her family. We got suckered into this time share proposal presentation in hopes of a free 2 night stay. And it was a success! The presentation was only about an hour and wasn't bad at all, so we went on our way and enjoyed our time there.
We got in on Friday night and didn't have much time to do anything, so we went to bed after checking the place out. Saturday morning we got up and got breakfast and went to the outlet mall and both of us got some nice new clothes. Next we went to the Alpine Coaster. Holy crapola that was fun! It was a blast and we recommend going on it without touching the brakes.
We then went to the store to get sandwich fixins and made some sandwiches. Back at the hotel, Aiden and Becca went to the swimming pool while the rest of us took a nap. That's the kind of vacation I like! We went to dinner at Red Rock and Trent had a DELICIOUS Kobe Beef Burger and Suzanne was jealous. We went to Cold Stone and watched a movie to end the night. Sunday morning after we got packed we played some Air Hockey and a racing game in the Game Room and headed home. A fun trip and best of all, we made $10 on the room because of the time share presentation.
